Authentic Mexican

We want you to enjoy our authentic Mexican food, so when you have a chance, stop on by and pick up one of our mouthwatering signature dishes.

  • Our House specialty: Lamb (Barbacoa de Borrego) marinated in our family recipe with onions, cilantro, small corn tortilla, yahualica salsa and with a cup of hot goat consommé which pair well with lamb.
  • Carne Asada Fries: Crispy french fries with melted monterey jack cheese, sour cream, and fresh guacamole.
  • Hard Shell Potatoes Tacos (Tacos de Papa): Our Grandmother's secret recipe with creamy potatoes topped with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, monterey jack cheese and fresh guacamole.
  • Shrimp, Octopus, Abalone Cocktails: (Campechana) Freshly made cocktail juice with shrimp, octopus, abalone, cucumber, onions, cilantro, tomatoes, avocado slices, lime, ketchup, corn tortillas chips and crackers.
  • Charbroiled Steak Plate: (Platillo de Carne Asada) Hand sliced steak, seasoned, and grilled to order with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and corn tortillas.

About Us

Taqueria My Taco is a family owned Mexican restaurant managed by Jorge Garduno, Maria, their son George and their daughter Vanessa established on June 20, 1994. A year prior from being established in Highland Park, they began in the city of Bell behind Suliks market on the corner of Salt Lake Blvd and Bell Ave, CA only selling tacos on the weekends. They had a customized taco cart selling their specialty "tacos de barbarcoa de borrego – lamb tacos and consume de chivo – goat stew". This recipe is the heart and specialty of My Taco today, it is the recipe given by Jorge’s late father who was a cook in Mexicalli, BC. Their tacos cart selections were limited and they only offered tacos of lamb, carne asada, chicken, lengua, and tripas.

The first year My Taco opened in Highland Park the taco cart was located in the front of the shopping mall of York Square Center, tacos could be purchased Friday – Sunday late night from 5pm-12am in the front of the parking lot. My Taco started solely as taqueria selling 10 different tacos such as lamb, carne asada, chicken, al pastor, chorizo, longaniza, buche, tripas, cabeza, carnitas and offering limited food items.

In 2006, My Taco expanded and remolded with bold vibrant colors and stylish art from Mexico. The menu expanded new dishes such as hard shell potato tacos (grandma’s secret recipe, Maria’s late mother), costillas de puerco, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, carne asada fries, aguas fracas, flan and much more... Our menu captures family dishes and recipes that highlight distinguish flavors and savory ingredients of our Mexican heritage through our food.

Catering services are also available for all occasions birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, company parties, baby showers etc., we put a twist on taco stands that accentuate graceful and eye catching buffets. We will customize a special menu for you and your guest. Download our catering menu.
